OKTOBERFEST1 copy

Since 1810, Munich, Bavaria, Germany has played host to Oktoberfest – the world’s largest “Volksfest,” or traveling funfair and beer festival. Millions of people from around the world travel to the Bavarian capital for the over two-week-long celebration to enjoy millions of liters of special Oktoberfest Beer, food, and festivities; the special beer is brewed within Munich city limits and conforms to the strict “Reinheitsgebot,” sometimes referred to as the “German Purity Law.”

Pleasanton Unified School District Ranked In Top 10 Best In State

Pleasanton Unified School District Ranked In Top 10 Best In State

As the 2017-18 school year kicks off, parents and students heading to their first day of school can see how the Pleasanton Unified School District stacks up against others in the county and state as Niche.com has released its annual rankings of best schools and school districts in the country.

The 2018 rankings released this month rank elementary, middle and high schools as well as school districts. According to Niche, the best school district in the state is the Palo Alto Unified School District. With an overall Niche grade of A+, the district received a grade of A+ in academics, teachers, clubs and activities, college prep and a C + in health and safety. In the category of diversity, Niche awarded the school district an A+.

The Pleasanton Unified School District ranked #9 in California and #1 in Alameda County. The Pleasanton District earned an overall grade of A+ from Niche, earning an A+ in academics, teachers and college prep; an B in clubs and activities; and B+ in diversity and B in health and safety.

To arrive at these rankings, Niche looked at data from the U.S. Department of Education as well as test scores, college data and ratings collected from Niche users. The methodology for each category of ranking varied. (Click here for more information on how Niche calculates its rankings.)

Niche assigns a standardized score for each factor, which is then weighted before an overall score is calculated for each school district. The overall scores are again standardized and some districts are disqualified from receiving a final letter grade if there isn’t enough data. School districts are then ranked numerically and assigned grades.

According to Niche, these are the ten best school districts in Alameda County:

  1. Pleasanton Unified School District
  2. Albany City Unified District
  3. Piedmont City Unified District
  4. Dublin Unified School District
  5. Berkeley Unified School District
  6. Alameda City Unified School District
  7. Fremont Unified School District
  8. Castro Valley Unified School District
  9. Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District
  10. New Haven Unified School District

Niche’s data for its K-12 school district rankings comes from various sources including the U.S. Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics and the Civil Rights Data Collection. The rankings also rely on data that is self-reported by Niche users and schools. (Click here to learn more about where Niche’s data comes from.)

Like in many other places around the world, people are attracted Croatia’s rich history. “Current trends show that buyers are interested in homes in the hearts of our historic cities such as Split, Dubrovnik, and Opatiia,” says Pažanin. “We also know that buyers are interested in exclusive, coastal homes on the beaches of the Dalmatian Islands. In terms of architecture, our clients are looking for modern homes that provide a sense of comfort and familiarity. This is a new trend in a market where Mediterranean-inspired design dominates; mostly built in the beginning of the 20th century, these homes are being revitalized for contemporary standards.”
